I am so excited to introduce my dear friend, Melissa Eaton, to you!
She is not only a friend but a neighbor, and quite a hospitable one at that! We always know that she is up for some play time and when we are sick she runs over young living essential oils, diffusers, sugar scrubs, etc.
She has fed us, nursed us back to health, and loved on me and my kids well.
The Lord wanted you to see this woman because she is a wonderful example of a Mom who takes the wisdom and resources she has been given, and makes the most amazing things out of them. And she gives God ALL of the glory for it!
Even though she would rather not be put on display, SHE MUST BE! Because she is worth it.
Let’s just get one thing out of the way right now… being a Mom is HARD! It just is, that is a fact. We have all these blogs (not this one of course) telling us what to do and what not to do. All these articles about what is “best” for our kids and which toy you shouldn’t buy because it might poison them with lead. As mothers we are bombarded by all these things that “we are suppose to do” and “how we are suppose to do them” and very rarely are we just told that what we are doing is “good enough”, that “WE are good enough”! I am constantly fighting this battle of what is best, for our six children. These six children have stretched and pulled me physically (I birthed four so you know there was some stretching), emotionally and mentally (I have a twelve year old girl, pray for me). Being a filter to the world for our children is a never ending job. On top of being the filter to our home we are also filling everyone’s needs. Someone always needs something, hurt someone, called someone a name; it’s just a never ending circus and a never ending job. Being a Mom is hard, rewarding yes, but hard.
A little over a year ago my Mom job began to look different; I became a full time stay at home Mom. So now, that circus was literally never ending, it became my everyday life. As I learned how to be the ring leader at our 24/7 circus, I began to question how I was impacting the kingdom of God. Don’t get me wrong, I love my children and I know that by raising them to love the Lord I am being obedient to God’s word, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that there was something else I was suppose to be doing. You know that feeling that you’re forgetting something; like when you walk out the door to go to the store and realize your 3 yr old is still sitting on the couch waiting for you to put her shoes on. The Holy Spirit was nudging me, He was trying to get my attention.
Let’s rewind a little to the summer of 2014. I had started a home based business with Young Living and I had started it with the intention to Glorify the Lord, we were Dedicated Living. Dedicated to Christ, Dedicated to serving others, and Dedicated to healthy living. I had been doing a pretty good job of doing this, so I thought, for the last couple of years. Then this nudging came, what was God trying to show me. I began to pray. I began to pray that God would show me what Dedicated Living really stood for. As I prayed over several days I began to remember how powerful prayer is. I began to remember how much I loved to pray. That was it! This was the nudging.
The Holy spirit wanted me to pray.

The Holy Spirit wanted me to be praying for the people that God put in my path. The MOM’s that God put in my path. I had not been incorporating one of the gifts that God had given me, I had not been interceding for others.
Knowing how hard it is to be a mom, a stay at home mom, a homeschooling mom, a working mom, I had a specific audience that I could serve. Doing what I do allows me to serve Mom’s of all walks of life I can not only share with them how to make healthier choices for themselves and their families, but I can pray for them. God has so seamlessly intertwined my “job, job” with my everyday life. To say that I love what I do is an understatement. It brings me so much joy to encourage, edify, and pray for fellow Moms. Fellow Moms that may have just spent all day picking up their hundredth lego, or who have just sent their tween to their room for the 20th time that day, or for the Moms who have just stayed up all night with a cluster feeding 3 month old. God has created me for such a time as this. Loving on Moms anyway I can but praying for them always. I pray for everyone that God places in my path, present and future. I pray for every Mom that walks through my door for a playdate or a class. I pray for them in secret or sometimes in person right in my living room.
So, Mom’s let me love on you a little, let me encourage you in the Lord! Being a Mom is hard. Being a Mom is one of the hardest jobs in the world. The constant worrying and wondering, but know this, God has created YOU for such a time as this. He has created you to glorify Him through these lives that He has entrusted you with. You will make mistakes, you won’t be right ALL the time (don’t tell your kids that), you will need many breaks; but you are doing God’s work.
In Deuteronomy 28:12 Moses tell us,
“The Lord will open for you His abundant storehouse, the sky, to give your land rain in its season and to bless all the work of your hands.”
God will bless the work of your hand’s Moms, He will honor your obedience, your hard work! God sees you, He hears you, and He sees every tear that falls. He will not forsake you. He loves you. He lifts up your head. He sustains you. He protects you. He provides your needs. He comforts you. He takes delight in you. You are precious to Him.”
“Because you are precious in My sight and honored, and I love you,” Isaiah 43:4
“But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, and the One who lifts up my head.” Psalm 3:3
Jesus Himself says these very words to us, “This is why I tell you: Don’t worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the sky: They don’t sow or reap or gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you WORTH MORE than they? Can any of you add a single cubit to his height by worrying? And why do you worry about clothes? Learn how the wildflowers of the field grow: they don’t labor or spin thread. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was adorned like one of these! If that’s how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and thrown into the furnace tomorrow, won’t He do MUCH MORE for you-you of little faith? So don’t worry, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ Or ‘What will we drink?’ or “What will we wear?’” Matthew 6:25-31
You are worth MUCH MORE to Him than anything else He created. I encourage you to walk in that truth today and all the days of your life. Imagine the impact we as Moms could make if we walked with this Godly confidence everyday.
So, when you are changing that hundredth diaper and picking up that hundredth toy remember that you are a Daughter of the most High, that God sees the work of your hands. Search for ways to use your gifts for His Glory, whether it’s with your kids or with others you encounter. Be confident not in yourself but in who God created you to be. He has created you for such a time as this. You were created for a purpose, so go out and bless the world with your gifts, and stop living less than for what you were created.
