FRIEND FRIDAY | MEGAN GILMORE

This beautiful woman has been my friend since we were freshmen in college! Throughout all the moves to different colleges and across the country, marriage, babies, and planning women's retreats together.. she is my partner in ALL GOOD CRIME! I love her dearly and I cannot express the pride I feel when I read her story. After seeing it all first hand, I couldn't be more proud to call her one of my very best friends.

She encourages me, inspires me, tells me to get my act together, helps me pick out clothes with best friend kind of honesty, cheers me on, texts me until I remember to text back, and SO MUCH MORE. I love her something fierce.

God has given us each a name and it is ours to claim.

For me the journey to discover my name was a difficult one.

Through heartache, depression, and brokenness... He remained faithful. He patiently and lovingly called me till I heard Him.

Growing up weight was always a struggle. It defined me. It put me in a box and shamed me. The enemy used this time to feed me full of lies. Lies that I believed well into my adult life. Lies hold us tightly to darkness, but there is freedom in Christ and His truth.

As these lies followed me they spoke louder and louder till I could not function. But, my God is so good. He loved me so much and He placed people in my life to draw me out of the darkness.

It was in this time of darkness I begin to work on my physical well being. I decided to take my health to a new level. I began doing Beachbody workouts. It was while I worked out that my mind began to get quiet. Quiet from all the lies that bombarded me.

It was in these moments I began to hear God speak again.

"I love you".

"You are my Beloved".

"I have great things for you".

As I began to grow stronger physically, His voice and truth began to speak louder. Louder than the lies. One day, as I waited before Him, he whispered deep into my soul, "You are my brave and mighty warrior. I am training you for battle." This is who He created me to be, who He was calling me to be.

Over the past two years God has restored my broken soul. He took my broken pieces and molded me to be His brave and mighty warrior. He has shown me the parts of me that many find fault in are actually His gifting in my life. He is shown me how to pour out to others for Him. He took me through the darkness and struggle to be a support to others. You are never alone in your struggles. He loves you and wants you to live by your name. The one He has given you.

It has not just been a physical transformation for me. It is much deeper than that! It is a soul transformation. It is through my brokenness that God has created my beautiful story - my journey to becoming His warrior.
