One of my favorite things on this planet is nail polish!

I love to get manicures and pedicures but it is not often budget friendly. When my second son Sterling was born, I needed a cost effective and fun way to enjoy making myself feel confident, pretty, and put together. Nail polish became that outlet for me.

I have used almost every single type and brand of nail polish known to man and have found my current favorites that I have been wearing for about a year and a half.

My top favorite is Little Peony but Sally Hansen. This nail polish doesn't require a LED heat lamp to cure the gel nail polish to your nails and will stay on for a solid week and a half. If you are careful with your polish, it can even last up to TWO WEEKS!

My second favorite would be Sheer Fantasy by Essie Gel Couture. This polish is definitely more sheer than then Sally Hansen Miracle Gel but will last just as long and is amazingly durable. With any of these polishes it is recommended to use the gel top coat as well. It helps keep away the dings and chips to the polish.

NOW.. my guilty pleasure is to sit down with a cup of coffee at night after putting the kids down and pull out my Gel Nail Kit that I gifted myself with on Mother's Day after Sterling was born. You heard that right. I straight up gifted myself a Mother's Day present. I deserved it. It has come down in price since 2012, so you are in luck ;)!

Here are the products I use when doing my gel nails at home with my LED lamp!

SensatioNail Pro 3060 LED Lamp Gel Polish Dryer: Walmart, $13.88

SensatioNail Gel Primer Base & Top Coat, 71722, 4 pc: Walmart, $9.97

SensatioNail Gel Color Nail Polish, In the Shade, 0.25 fl oz: Walmart, $9.22

When I set up shop it looks like a salon in my home. I soak my toes and take my time filing and getting the polish perfect. There are more steps involved with the Gel Lamp but it is SO worth it if you have the time and patience. I mostly use this technique on my toes and can get a solid 2+ weeks of perfect wear out of them.

It should also be noted that since buying this I have never had to buy another color. I have used my colors often and have yet to run out of any color. There is so much bang for your buck with going this route. The polishes have not dried out and the pigment still looks great!

Hope you enjoyed hearing about my nail polish obsession ;)! Happy January!
