I love it when us southerners experience a good ole' freezing rain. Everyone freaks out, drives crazy, and raids the bread isle.

Just a thin layer of ice can cause mass chaos and destruction on roadways and the mind of Texans.

But I have found that I am almost love ice more than snow! Ice makes the barren earth come alive. When branches, leaves, and grass are covered with a thin layer of ice, the colors of the plants become more saturated (especially those beautiful evergreens) and begin to glisten as the golden morning sunlight hits them. Just as a diamond has different facets in order to create more sparkle and shine, so does ice when it covers different natural surfaces.

What other people seemed bothered by on this cold and wintery day I will enjoy until the sunlight begins to melt it away.

I took my two older kiddos to school and then off with my camera I went to find some beautiful things :). Enjoy these images I snapped this morning.

"The breath of God produces ice, and the broad waters become frozen." Job 37:10
